Homecoming advice, info, and style...(women only please!)?

okay, so I might go to my first homecoming (freshman) and I need to know some stuff:

dress- it's in January and I found a dress but I need a coat (preferably trench) to go with it that I can wear outside. can I wear a sweater under that for inside? here's the dress: http://www.wetseal.com/catalog/product.j鈥?/a> its the rust colored one

shoes: should/could I wear opened-toed and/or closed-toed but open skin on the foot sense it is in winter?

date: do you have to have a date? does the boy ask you? is embarrassing not to have one? if you don't go are you considered unsocial'?

thanks sooo much, and ten points to however can answer the most and accurately!!!

PS: started a new school this year and its private (been going to private all my life so the small classes are NOT new to me)

and for the sweater and coat thing, I'm really small (5' and 95 lbs) and a lot of jounior stuff is too big in the chest (just hit a 32A in junior bras)Homecoming advice, info, and style...(women only please!)?
I honestly, dont like the dress. it might be cuter in person, but i dont like it on the computer. My oponion. If you like it, then i'd say black open toe shoes. or whatever you find thats cute. yes the boy asks you, no you dont have to have a date, its usually better to go as a group of friends, less dramatic and less stressful . And no your not considered unsocial.Homecoming advice, info, and style...(women only please!)?
First thing first, CALM DOWN. It's just Homecoming and it's your Freshman year. Chances are, people won't remember whether or not you have a date, you can always go with friends. But if you feel you should have a date, you can always ask a good guy friend of yours. If you don't go, people won't care, so it's not going to make you look unsocial. It's your freshman year for goodness sake, there are tons of other dances to attend in the future.

As for the coat situation, once fall rolls around, there are going to be tons of stores that will be selling cute trench coats. As for wearing a sweater inside, it's a dance. It's going to be hot in there and you are eventually going to want to run outside to cool down.

Shoes: Pumps go with EVERYTHING. Unless you have a pedicure, it's a safe bet to go in a closed toed shoe. But you do have to remember that you will probably be dancing for a long time, so it is sensible to bring flats or flip flops to dance in if you are not comfortable dancing barefoot.

Just remember though, have fun.
