i have heard you have to cover arms shoulders and legs is this trueCan some give me advice on the dress code for women in Egypt please?
To be respectful-yes. If you are at the beaches, that is one thing, but, not the general thing. I go to Egypt and I wear longer length skirts and sleeves at least to my elbows. I also make sure the neck of my blouse is fairly high----no cleavage.
Wear what you want, but you will be considered a whore by the people on the street if you do not conform to a code of modesty. They will treat you as such, too.
I should add, because of the heat there, wear cotton only------synthetics will make you so hot.Can some give me advice on the dress code for women in Egypt please?
No you don't HAVE too, I am American living in Egypt for 10 years, but you sure would have men eyeing you and women too if you wore sleeveless shirts and showing your shoulders, but I guess it is ok if you go to a hotel party and depending on the company you keep.
There isn't a per se ';dress code'; in place but there is a public social acceptance which you can choose to follow if you hate people staring at you.
I personally wear t-shirts and many more modern Egyptian women wear those pants that come up to mid-calf. Hope this helps.
